Ace is my very best driving donkey, in fact he is one of the very
best driving donkeys I have ever seen. His movement, flexibility and high
knee action are simply awesome. Since CDE events and breeding season happen
at the same time it is simply impossible to do both at the same time because
of time constraints. Therefore, Ace is being removed from stud services and
will become my primary driving donkey for CDE competition.
Gate Farm’s Black Tie Affair or “Ace” as he is known to family
and friends, is a Black with Silver points jack. Ace has racked up quite an
impressive show record competing in Halter Classes against horses, mules and
donkeys. Since starting his show career Ace has been to 45 shows. He has
brought home 4 Year End High Point Silver Belt Buckles, numerous trophies,
100 ribbons, engraved halters and monetary awards. Ace and his brother Ewok
were the first jacks to compete against horses on their turf, play by their
rules and win! They were also the first Year End High Point Grand Champion
and Reserve Champion Halter Stallions to have long ears and bray!
In the interest of saving time, Gate Farm’s Black Tie Affair’s 45 show
results as of June 2005 have been condensed. He accomplished all of this
showing against horses, mules and donkeys. Because of the Mountain Fire and
the re-building of our Temecula Facility we have not shown any of the jacks.
They have been furthering their education at home driving for fun and
practicing for CDE’s (Combined Driving Events). See additional photos of Ace
below.
